As cited above that you have completed Diploma in Electricals and want to appear for the IAS and IPS examination and want to know the eligibility criteria for applying to the same then for your information.
IAS is nothing but Indian Ambassador Service which is considered as one of the top most Civil Service Post in Central Government Department.

IPS is nothing but Indian Police Service which is also a Civil Service post in Central Government department.

The recruitment for filling up of IAS and IPS or any Civil Service post is done solely by UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission which is an authority which recruits candidates for filling up of Civil Service posts in Central Government Department.

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the IAS / IPS officer post is as follows :-

1. Must be a Citizen of India
2. Age should be in between 21 to 27 years
3. Must possess a minimum of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC as an essential qualification.

For applying to the IPS officer post a candidate must be physical fit and possess the additional physical eligibility criteria, the minimum physical eligibility criteria requires for applying to the IPS post is as follows :-

1. Chest – 84cms
2. Height – 194cms
3. Weight – Equivalent to Height as per standard measures

No. of attempts is applicable for the written exam is as follows :-4 attempts to General Category
7 attempts to OBC
No limit for SC/ST candidates
The exam pattern followed by the UPSC for the Civil Service post comprises with the following :

1. Preliminary Exam
2. Mains Exam
3. Interview
4. Merit
5. Probationary Period
