Am I eligible to become Sub-Inspector being a serviceman in Indian Army? Procedure to join?

 I am a serviceman in Indian Army. I have completed my graduation 5 years ago. Now, I want to apply in Sub-Inspector post. So, will you help me to know about the process? Also tell me if I am eligible for this post or not?

Dear Aspirant,

As cited above that you have completed your Graduation five years ago and you are presently working in Indian Army but you wish to become Sub – Inspector and want to know the eligibility criteria for the said post, then for your information.

Sub Inspector is a Group C post which comes under Police Department. The recruitment for which is done either by your respective state police service commission or by SSC i.e. Staff selection Commission.

For applying to the Sub Inspector post the minimum eligibility criteria is essential :-

a) A candidate must be a Citizen of India

b) His age should be in between 18 to 28 years. Relaxation of 3 years to OBC, 5 years to SC/ST and 8 years to Ex-service men is applicable

c) Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC is essential.

Apart from the educational qualification, citizen ship and age, physical fitness is also very much necessary to become a Sub Inspector. 

The following is the physical fitness which a candidate have to fulfill for applying to the Sub Inspector post, they are :-

Height : 165cms

Chest :82cms

Weight : Equivalent to Height

The selection pattern followed by the commission for the Sub inspector post is as follows :

Phsycial Fitness Test

Written Exam

Interview

Merit

Selection.
