Can a B.Tech CSE student apply for IES and ISS Exam?

 I have completed B.Tech with Computer Science branch. Am i eligible to apply for IES or ISS Exam. I know that these two exams are conducted by UPSC. Kindly clear my doubt.

Dear Aspirant,

As cited above that you have completed B.Tech with Computer Science stream and want to know whether you are eligible for applying to the IES or ISS exam or not then for your information.

IES nothing but Indian Engineering Service which is a Civil Service exam which is conducted by UPSC. UPSC is nothing but Union Public Service Commission is an recruiting authority which recruits candidates for filling up of Civil Service posts in Central Government.

The recruitment for filling up of Civil services posts in Central Government is done by UPSC every year in the month of July / August.

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the Civil Service post by UPSC is as follows :

a. A candidate must be a Citizen of India
b. Age should be in between 21 to 27 years however relaxation in terms of age of 3 years to OBC, 5 years to SC/ST is applicable.
c. Must pass Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC.

The exam pattern comprises with the following :-

Preliminary Exam
Mains Exam
Interview

Preliminary Exam comprises with the Objective type questions while Mains exam comprises with the descriptive type questions. Shortlisted candidates are selected for the interview and final result will get declared. Selected candidates will get nine months training and thereafter posting will be done.
